Håvard Grjotheim succeeds Bob Hodgson as President of Intergraf after being a member of the Intergraf Board since 2003. He was elected President at the General Assembly held on June 13 2008 in Luxembourg.
“I am very proud to be elected president of Intergraf. I have been involved in Intergraf activities for many years and see it as a crucial portal towards legislators in the EU. The representation work of Intergraf is highly important to ensure correct information about the industry is used and to have the EU’s support in developing our sector. I look forward to taking an even more active part in increasing the influence of Intergraf and |
securing the exchange of best practices between members”, Mr Grjotheim commented about his new role.
Mr Grjotheim (56) is President and CEO of the 07 group, the largest printing group in Norway, formed in 2007 by five of the country’s main printing companies. The 07 Group is active both in printing, design and web-based publishing. Grjotheim was also CEO of Elanders in Sweden for many years, and has long experience in the field of printing and publishing from countries in both Eastern and Western Europe.
Bob Hodgson was elected President in 2006. During his two-year term, he led the important work of Intergraf to respond to increased delocalisation of printed products to Asia as well as to promote the positive aspects of using printed products towards customers. Mr Hodgson stated:
“It has been an honour to be President of Intergraf. Intergraf has developed enormously in the last years and it has been great to be part of that process. There are many opportunities for the industry to prosper and deliver high value added services and I am sure the work of Intergraf will continue to provide important support to printers along the way.”
The General Assembly also featured presentations on Intergraf activities during the last year, as well as future priorities. Highlights from the year 2007-2008 included the publication of the European Commission study on the competitiveness of the European Graphic Industry. The recommendations of the study are the basis for a future action plan for the industry, also presented by Intergraf.
Lars Fredrikson has also left the Intergraf Board after six years as a Board Member. He served as Intergraf President between the years 2004-2006, when he led the re-organisation of Intergraf. The meeting in Luxembourg gathered 31 participants from 14 member federations.
