VSD – Swiss Printing Federation
The VSD supports its members in the implementation of
standards according to ISO 12647-2. It has developed the Visual PRINT
Reference (Test pages with Reference Prints) together with ugra. The VSD
supports the neutrality of ugra, and as member of its Board of
Directors, VSD works to enhance the efficiency of standardisation in the
printing industry.
The Visual Print Reference
The “Visual Print Reference“ is a means of control, based on
specifically selected images that will easily reveal differences and
problems in print production. This reference has been developed by the
VSD Technical Committees. Its advantage is in particular the visual
evaluation of all materials used in the print process. “Visual
Print Reference” ensures quality to print customers and suppliers
for better and more efficient print results. The tool for the process
control in the printing industry includes reference prints, and is based
on the current ISO 12647-2.
Technical Committees of VSD
Securing and ensuring the necessary competencies is a guiding principle
of VSD. The technical committees of both working groups (PPS and VDS)
work on technical solutions for the practical use in the printing
industry. Every member company can participate actively in a working
group to have immediate access to all information for their company.
swissPSO – guaranteed quality
Today’s printing industry has little in common with one of the
most important inventions of humanity – the printing machine.
Tools, printing inks and digitalisation have turned the former
handicraft into a modern industry that is able to provide prints of
excellent quality. However, the series of instructions and the high
number of components make it an art to achieve this quality again and
again.
In a long preparation time, Viscom has developed a tool thanks to which
the best quality can be achieved all the time – steadily and with
little effort and spoilage: swissPSO.
-
Process optimisation: Precise instructions, the
selection of appropriate tools, printing inks and substrates guarantee
error avoidance and high quality.
-
Tested quality: The conformity with ISO norms ensures
results within the tolerance level, without spoilage and with quick
changeover time.
-
Ideal customer orientation: Customer-friendly
behaviour from the first contact to the delivery – perfectly
matched to the customer’s requests – exceeds the
expectations of even the most demanding print buyer.
-
Sustainability: Environmental awareness, training
concepts and continuous further development are essential features of
the sustainability of swissPSO.
swissPSO involves the businesses of the printing
industry – from the photographer to the print media processor
– from wherever they stand today.
Together, all necessary steps are taken to achieve the quality label.
After a successful validation, the seal of quality swissPSO is awarded
to the business
