Come to the European Book Printers' Strategic Workshop, Germany

{K2Splitter}

Intergraf will organise the European Book Printers' Strategic Workshop in the Munich area and town of Nordlingen, Germany this September.

The event, taking place on 28-29th September 2015, is open to book printers, binders and finishers who are members of an Intergraf member association.

While Intergraf has long held an annual event for book printers, this year's edition is quite different as it will take the form of a workshop analysing changes in the industry and how companies can react.

What you will learn:
Potential business strategies will be analysed and discussed during the day:
i.    Experts from Smithers/Pira and Kolbus will paint a picture of the book market over a 5-10 year perspective from both a customer and a technology point of view.
ii.    With the help of moderators, delegates will work in small groups and will assess where they stand in the market now and conduct a gap analysis against the future market scenario.
iii.    Delegates, again working in small groups, will then generate options for future business models and the development of a “journey” or “transition” through the various business stages from “today to tomorrow”. This may include template business plans and an analysis of the future skills requirements.

The workshop is complemented by a visit to C.H. Beck in Nördlingen on Tuesday morning, a printer founded in 1763 that has developed into a high-tech printing company employing 420 staff in Nördlingen. C.H. Beck is specialised in the production of books, loose-leaf publications, periodicals and electronic publications including content processing and data responsibility. The visit will include a presentation of their company including their new activities in the field of electronic services.

A further highlight is the visit to the Canon / Océ Demonstration Centre in Poing on Tuesday afternoon before returning to the Airport.
