  Charles is Chief Executive of the British Printing Industries Federation (BPIF), the leading trade association for the UK printing industry. The BPIF, represent their members, producing research and insights for the industry as well as networking and events to support a modern progressive print sector. The BPIF also provides consultancy services to member companies focussed on employment advice and support, as well as health, safety & environmental guidance. It also operates BPIF Training, the major apprenticeship training provider across the UK print and packaging sector.

  Prior to joining the BPIF, Charles held senior financial, operational and leadership roles in the print and publishing sectors, including St Ives Plc, Southernprint Ltd (part of Gannett Inc.), United Business Media plc and the US Information services group International Data Group Inc.
